About Us

Conducting accredited CME programs to support, foster, and direct comprehensive, cost-effective, and high-quality cardiovascular care to patients served by any physician involved in cardiovascular disease patients.

Our Approach

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide cutting-edge, evidence-based cardiovascular education to physicians in order for them to better help their patients.

Our Story

As we design our activities using ACCME accreditation criteria, we expect the following results:

  • We will present unbiased CME;
  • We will assist learners in fulfilling their requirements for licensure and maintenance of certification;
  • We will assist learners in meeting regulatory requirements relating to their patient care practices;
  • We will close the gaps in learners’ knowledge and competence relating to:
    • Cultural diversity,
    • Health care disparities,
    • Ethical issues,
    • Cost effective analysis;
  • We will demonstrate improved competence of our learners through use of an evaluation form at our activities;
  • We will demonstrate improved performance of our learners through post-activity survey/questionnaires;
  • We will teach, train, and mentor Cardiovascular Fellows to ensure future clinicians will carry out cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment best practices;
  • We will increase cardiovascular disease treatment options, prevention and improve patient care through our CME educational program.

Accreditation

The Global Cardiovascular Academy (GCA) has been awarded Accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

Conflict-of-Interest Policy

The Global Cardiovascular Academy (GCA) is dedicated to ensuring balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all GCA-sponsored CME/CE activities. GCA requires all potential faculty members and program planners, in advance, to disclose financial relationships with relevant commercial interests resulting in potential conflicts of interest. If relevant financial relationships are disclosed, GCA assesses how they may affect CME/CE content. GCA requires faculty members to validate all treatment recommendations by disclosing the level of evidence and requires all content to be reviewed by an independent clinical reviewer before dissemination. If GCA and the independent clinical reviewer agree that data are biased, do not represent accepted standards of US medical practice, and/or do not conform to research principles accepted by the scientific community, contributors must exclude those data and/or related conclusions or not be permitted to present. GCA is committed to attempting to resolve all potential conflicts of interest, although if potential contributors have relevant financial relationships that cannot be reconciled, GCA reserves the right to prohibit participation.
